Our Story
The B.A.B.Y. Foundation was formed in the spring in 2003 under the leadership of Dr. Michelle Soriano, a local obstetrician, and her husband, Kevin Kirchmar. An employee in Dr. Soriano’s office had a child with a disability, and, although they had health insurance, their medical bills were astounding. Dr. Soriano recognized that there was a gap in resources available for such families in our community. As a result, she and her husband founded The B.A.B.Y. Foundation to provide assistance and help fill those gaps.
A Message from the President of The B.A.B.Y. Foundation
Each year families in America are faced with the reality of the rising cost of medical care. The B.A.B.Y Foundation was formed with the vision of helping Northern Colorado’s under-insured families with children facing medical challenges meet these costs.
Some families are faced with the difficult decision between paying household expenses or providing medical care for a sick child. This is where The B.A.B.Y Foundation steps in. We help to pay for medical bills, medicine, and therapies to help relieve the burden of the medical expenses and help the family feel some financial relief. With the help of our donors, supporters and sponsors, together we can help these families Build A Brighter Year!
The B.A.B.Y. Foundation has grown tremendously since 2003. We are staffed completely by volunteers; 100% of our proceeds go directly to the medical bills of our recipients.
